Our History

The Longview Orthopaedic Clinic Association is one of the oldest orthopaedic clinics in East Texas with a long and proud history.

The Longview Orthopaedic Clinic was founded by Dr. Bud Colquitt in 1959, with Dr. Colquitt as the sole physician. Shortly after opening the clinic, Mrs. Essie Petty was hired as the clinic's first employee. Dr. George Hilliard joined the clinic in 1965. The clinic was located on the tenth floor of the First National Bank building (now Bank One) in downtown Longview. The clinic later moved to the third floor. The clinic moved to its present location on Sixth Street in 1979. Dr. Colquitt, founder of the clinic, retired in 1987. Dr. Hilliard retired in 1999.

Starting as a single physician clinic in a modest office in the Bank One Building, the Longview Orthopaedic Clinic Association has continued to grow and expand over the years. The clinic currently has has seven physicians and an office and clinical staff of approximately 20 employees. The office has been recently remodeled and expanded to better serve patients and families.
